CDFA Briefs Obama Transition Team on Economic Development Stimulus Package
CDFA President and CEO Toby Rittner was invited to participate in a briefing of the Obama Administration's Treasury Review Team by the California Association for Local Economic Development (CALED). Nine different development groups participated in the briefing, which was coordinated by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).

The CDFA 2008 TIF State-By-State Report is a detailed review of the current state statutes and related regulations governing the use of tax increment and similar special district financing tools throughout the country. This information has been collected by CDFA with the help from practitioners in the industry, and every effort has been made to verify the accuracy of the data provided in this report.

CDFA Legislative Front: Stimulus Package Starting to Take Shape
The end of 2008 saw a lot of looking ahead to 2009 as the new Administration, Congress, states, municipalities and industry groups all began discussion and work on the economic stimulus package that President-Elect Barack Obama has promised as his top priority on day one of his presidency. As part of this process, CDFA was able to meet with the Treasury Review Team as part of a team of economic development leaders.

Early Bird Rates for the Advanced Bond Finance Course expire this Friday, January 9. This course, held January 29-30, 2009 in Washington, DC, is designed for professionals who already have an understanding of tax-exempt financing and seek detailed instruction on complex financing techniques, including the application of financial derivatives, advance refundings, how to spot arbitrage issues, and investing bond proceeds.
