The Advanced Bond Finance Course is designed for professionals who already have an understanding of tax-exempt financing and seek detailed instruction on complex financing techniques, including the application of financial derivatives, advance refundings, how to spot arbitrage issues, and investing bond proceeds. Financial Tools focuses on financial derivatives such as swaps, caps, floors, collars, and forward rate locks and their use in hedging municipal bonds and the potential risks and benefits.

Auction Rate Notes covers how ARN’s combine the benefits of a long-term financing structure with short-term interest rates and the interest rate is reset through a Dutch Auction process.

Peer Group Discussions offer participants the opportunity to talk with one another about challenges and possible solutions faced by the industry.

Investing Bond Proceeds reviews various types of bond investment vehicles, including GICs, and other asset-based products and how they work to manage market and reinvestment risk while enhancing returns on bond proceeds.

Arbitrage and Rebate Concepts is an overview of arbitrage concepts, rebate requirements and rebate exceptions—the focus is on issue spotting and guidance on outsourcing arbitrage compliance.

Advanced Refundings describes the process whereby an issuer refinances an outstanding bond issue by issuing new bonds to reduce interest costs or remove restrictive bond covenants.

MSRB Rules focuses on Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board rules that issuers need to know about.
