8:30 – 10:00 amSummit Opening Session: Municipal Finance Under the Microscope – The Changing Landscape of Development Finance
As lending institutions and the federal government forge new partnerships to address the global economic crisis, state and local communities are particularly concerned about how they can continue to support business, industry and other development initiatives. While these partnerships are slowly developing, we are beginning to see how they will set the foundation for municipal financing and economic development for the next few decades. Even though the bond market has struggled over the past several months, the capital markets industry continues to pursue and participate in deals and the federal government continues to partner in this endeavor. During the opening session of the 2009 Annual Summit, join the nation’s most distinguished financing leaders as we put municipal finance under the microscope and explore the changing landscape of development finance and the solutions for a new 21st century economy.
