2016 CDFA Capitol Hill Days

Join CDFA as we take the development finance industry’s message to Washington, DC on Wednesday and Thursday, May 4-5, 2016 for our Annual Capitol Hill Day.

On May 4, our advocacy agenda will focus on the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) program. The Access to Capital Act (S.1901) has been successfully introduced in Congress. Our objective for the day will be to speak with members of Congress to express the importance of providing additional funding and the reauthorization of the program.

On May 5, our advocacy agenda will focus on the Modernizing American Manufacturing Bonds Act (MAMBA). MAMBA (H.R. 2890) has been successfully introduced in Congress. Our main objective for the day will be to speak with members of Congress and explain how this legislation, if enacted, will positively impact the economic development industry and create American jobs.

This is a great opportunity to express our views on development finance policy issues that matter. In a time of limited resources it is vitally important that Congress hears from CDFA members and stakeholders about the value of the development finance industry.

Prior to any meetings on the Hill, attendees will be briefed on the issues and effective advocacy techniques. You will receive a list of talking points as well as tips on how to convey your message in a convincing way, how to answer questions posed to you, and how to optimize your time in your meetings with officials.

When: Wednesday & Thursday, May 4 -5, 2016. Meetings will be held each day from 1:00-5:00pm

Who: Economic development leaders, government leaders, issuers, investors, attorneys, and those who have a stake in the use of SSBCI programs or Qualified Small Issue Manufacturing Bonds.

Where: Washington, DC

This is your opportunity to join with your peers to bring visibility to the development finance industry and share information about “what works” for states and communities around the country.

For questions or to RSVP, contact Desmond Bryant at 614-705-1315 by April 15, 2016 so that CDFA can secure the appropriate meetings with your delegation. More detailed information will be sent at a later date.
