The Public Buildings Renewal Act

CDFA is actively supporting legislation authored by the Performance Based Buildings Coalition that would have a transformative effect on the use of public-private partnerships (P3s). H.R.5361 and its Senate companion bill, S.3177, would amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to allow American communities to issue private activity bonds for the construction of public schools, state colleges, post offices, libraries, prisons, and courthouses. Together the bills would also rewrite the IRC in a manner that would encourage the increased usage of public-private partnerships.
