Early Bird Rates End This Friday for CDFA Summer School
August 7-11, 2017 - Minneapolis, MN
CDFA Summer School is a week long series of courses presented by the CDFA Training Institute. These courses qualify for the Development Finance Certified Professional (DFCP) Program. Join us in Minneapolis, and start down the road to personal and professional advancement. Courses include: Fundamentals of Economic Development Finance, Intro Bond Finance, Intro Brownfields Finance, Intro Energy and Water Finance, and Intro Revolving Loan Fund.

PIDA Loan Rates Dropped to Two Percent
"PIDA is offering this reduced interest rate for a limited time to encourage businesses to make investments and grow jobs in the commonwealth," said Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Dennis Davin.

Southwestern PA Awarded $1.8M to Examine Brownfield Sites
The assessments involve examining the brownfield sites for signs of contamination such as unhealthy vegetation and exposed pipes as well as compiling and reviewing public records of the properties. Testing for contaminants, including for petroleum, may also take place.

City Center Closes $210M Tax-Exempt Bond Sale in Allentown, PA
The bonds were sold through the Allentown Neighborhood Improvement Zone Development Authority, enabling City Center to take advantage of the public authority's tax-exempt status. City Center CEO J.B. Reilly said that tax-free status would help save the city's largest developer $40 to $50 million in interest payments over the 25-year life of the bonds.

Northampton County P3 Transaction Overview
Northampton County, PA is the first for a Pennsylvania municipality employing a public-private partnership model for the replacement and rehabilitation of county bridges. This overview from Norris McLaughlin & Marcus outlines the project and the structure of the financing for the project.

Chester, PA Announces "Community-Based" P3
The city, which is about 18 miles south of Philadelphia, has a combined sewer-stormwater system — and has until 2018 to come up with a plan to minimize flooding and eliminate sewage overflow into the Delaware River and other waterways. To do so, they've turned to private company Corvias.
