Kansas City Micro-Loan Program Targets Artists
According to KCUR 89.3, Kansas City's Office of Culture and Creative services have expanded their micro-loan program targeting artists, ArtCap. Originally launched in 2015 with a budget of $50,000, the revised budget has been greatly increased to $250,000 to respond to the overwhelming demand.
Tax Increment Financing in Missouri
The Missouri Department of Revenue's 2015 Annual Report Summary details all TIF projects carried out throughout the state as of 2015. The projects are broken down by eight different categories, most of which cover a kind of blight designation, as well as jobs created and retained through these projects and anticipated costs.
MO Auditor Announces Plans to Audit TIF Procedures
The Missouri state auditor has recently announced plans to audit Cass County's procedures on Tax Increment Financing districts, the Washington Times reports.
MDOT Director Claims MO Infrastructure Needs Critical Attention
The Bond Buyer reports that Missouri's Department of Transportation Director recently urged lawmakers to allocate additional funds for infrastructure improvements and renovations as the 50-year lifespan of the state's highways, roads, and bridges is nearing its end.
MO Signs $750M Export Agreement with Columbia
The Daily Journal reports that Missouri's economic development director has signed a $750M export agreement with the country of Columbia, establishing a trade agreement to last the next five years.
Standard & Poor's Downgrades University of Missouri's Credit Outlook
Fox 2 Now reports that Standard & Poor's recently downgraded the outlook of the University of Missouri System's credit rating, dipping the University's AA+ from stable to negative.
Senate Committee Approves Bill to Eliminate St. Louis' Earnings Tax
KTRS reports that a measure aiming to eliminate Kansas City and St. Louis' one-percent earnings tax is moving ahead after receiving approval from a Senate committee.
