Affordable Housing Created and Preserved Throughout WA
The Washington State Housing Finance Commission recently approved a total of $137 million in financing for the rehabilitation or new construction of hundreds of affordable apartments across the state.
WA Department of Commerce Awards $11.8M for Local Energy
The Washington State Department of Commerce has announced $11.8 million in energy efficiency and solar grants to help reduce energy costs at six higher education institutions, 27 local governments, four state agencies and 15 K-12 public school districts.
WA Film Tax Credit Set to Expire
The state tax incentive for film productions in Washington is set to expire at the end of the month, and its chances of being renewed are uncertain. Without it, the series "Z Nation," along with other television productions and movies that see an economic advantage of coming to the state are likely to seek a better deal elsewhere.
WA Smart Communities Award Winners Announced
Now in its 12th year, the program recognizes achievements by local leaders who promote smart growth planning and projects that contribute to thriving communities, a prosperous economy and sustainable infrastructure in Washington State. This year seven counties, nine cities, two ports and one college will receive awards.
Community Economic Revitalization Board Invests $4.9M in Nine Counties
The $4,956,250 in grants and low-interest loans will support public infrastructure development and economic feasibility studies in nine counties across the state. The projects target business growth and job creation in Chelan, Clallam, Cowlitz, Grant, Lewis, Lincoln, Snohomish, Walla Walla, and Yakima counties.

This event will feature a number of economic development finance experts from around the state discussing development finance tools, authorities, resources and approaches, and how these can affect the Washington economy going forward.
CDFA Summer School
August 7 - 11, 2017 - Minneapolis, MN
CDFA Summer School is a week long series of courses presented by the CDFA Training Institute. These courses qualify for the CDFA Training Institute's Development Finance Certified Professional (DFCP) Program. Participants may register for one, two, or three courses during CDFA Summer School. Complete three courses, and you will have fulfilled half of the requirements for the DFCP Program.
