Washington State Provides Funding for Rail Infrastructure Projects
According to Railway Age, the Northern Columbia Basin Railroad Project received $20.9 million as part of the 2015-2017 Transportation Revenue Package that was recently passed by the Washington State Legislature. The project is critical to preserving existing manufacturing jobs and related investment in central Washington, while helping to bring new business opportunities to the region.

Proposal for Designation Under IMCP Initiative Granted to OR and WA
As one of 12 communities, the State of Oregon, Business Oregon, and in partnership with the State of Washington, has received a federal designation under the Investing in Manufacturing Communities Partnership (IMCP) Initiative. According to Oregon.gov, the partnership will link key research, workforce, and public and nonprofit partners, across two states.

Public-Private Partnerships for the Water Sector - October 28 -29, 2015
The West Coast Infrastructure Exchange and Stanford University are co-sponsoring an Executive Education program October 28-29, 2015 on public-private partnerships (P3s) in the water sector. Topics include best practices in evaluating and implementing P3s for drinking water supply and treatment, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure. Presenters will be a combination of professors and private and public sector representatives with direct, water-related P3 experience; enrollment is limited to public-sector officials.

The Phone Call That Could Help Governments' Credit Ratings
GOVERNING writes on CDFA's recent webcast on municipal credit ratings. Representatives from the Big Three credit rating agencies were guests on CDFA's webcast and provided the audience with insight of the rating industry.
