U.S. District Court to Decide Fate of Seattle EB-5 Project
U.S. District Court Judge James L. Robart will decide Thursday whether Chinese developer Binjiang and Las Vegas developer Molasky can take over the Potala Tower project. The project has been in turmoil since the original developer received an SEC fraud complaint.
WEDFA Approves $110M in Bonds for Columbia Pulp
The Washington Economic Development Finance Authority has approved the issuance of non-recourse revenue bonds to Columbia Pulp, LLC. The bonds will cover construction costs for a 449-acre wheat straw refuse recovery and paper pulp manufacturing facility
WA DOC Grants $10.6M for Energy Efficiency Projects
The Washington State Department of Commerce will provide over $10 million in energy efficiency and solar grants to reduce energy costs for eight higher education institutions, 32 local governments, four state agencies, and eight public school districts.
$3M Park Bonds Fuelling Tacoma's Conservatory Expansion
Expansion and renovation of the W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory will be financed by $3 million from a 2014 parks bond. Additional project revenue will come from smaller grants and fundraising efforts.
Tri-City Utilities Stop Accepting Applications for WA Solar Incentives
The city of Richland, WA and local public utility districts are not approving new applications for state energy tax credits. The rising popularity of home solar in Washington has pushed these groups to the limit of their tax credit cap.
Boeing's Historic Tax Break from WA Even Bigger Than Thought
A couple years ago, Boeing received what was dubbed the largest state tax-break deal for a private company in American history. The numbers are in for Boeing for the first two years since that deal passed and so far they are greater than cost estimates made at the time.
