HCD Announces $9.9M in Federal Funds for the Emergency Solutions Grant Program The Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) announced $9.9 million to assist communities with a variety of homelessness prevention programs. According to CALED, the HCD administers the Emergency Solutions Grant program to communities who do not receive funds directly from the federal government. CA Reinvestment Coalition Negotiates $11B Reinvestment Commitment The California Reinvestment Coalition announced a new Community Reinvestment plan, which calls for the Royal Bank of Canada to achieve a minimum of $11 billion in cumulative qualified CRA activity during the next five years. Financing the Future: How Will California Pay for Tomorrow? In partnership with the California Economic Summit, this installment of the Financing the Future series, California Forward highlights two investments essential to growing economic opportunity and efficiently accommodating more people. These two priorities are human capital and infrastructure. Financing Art and Culture Districts This essay from the National Cultural Districts Exchange focuses on the financing, funding, and sustainability of art districts and the efforts underway in the cities of San Diego, Seattle, Baltimore, Dallas, and the state of Massachusetts. Southern CA Developer Completes Its First Arts-Focused Colony Meta Housing Corporation has completed its first arts-focused apartment community project, according to RealEstateRama. The project integrates artistic live/work space and was financed with help from local community organizations.

RLF and Tax Credit Training in Fresno, CA - July 21-23 The CDFA California Financing Roundtable, CALED, and Fresno State have partnered together to provide dedicated development finance training to economic developers in California. Offered July 21-23, 2015 at the California State University Fresno campus, these courses will cover revolving loan funds and tax credit financing methods. 2015 CDFA California Roundtable November 19, 2015 Join CDFA and CALED for the California Financing Roundtable Conference on November 19, 2015. This one-day event will feature economic development finance experts and leaders from around the state discussing innovative development finance tools and projects, emerging resources and approaches, and how these methods can catalyze investment in the California economy.
