The Council of Development Finance Agencies (CDFA) and the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) are pleased to announce the launch of a new partnership to advance the CDFA Texas Financing Roundtable. The Roundtable is dedicated to developing a sustainable economic development finance industry for the state and will bring the development finance industry together through education, resource development, research and networking.

Tyler Junior College in Texas recently broke ground on their new Energy Center at the West Campus. The $7.56M three-story building will be financed through tax increment financing and will provide 51,000 square feet for research and training.

Houston's Grand Parkway Transportation Corp. will sell $733 million of bond-anticipation notes to help finance the massive toll road project. Bloomberg reports that funds from the notes, which are due December 2016, will be used to repay some of the highway's borrowing from last year.

Aker BioMarine Manufacturing has secured $28 million in New Markets Tax Credit allocation from National New Markets Fund, LLC, Texas Mezzanine Fund and Chase New Markets Corporation to transform a vacant former Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream plant into a fully operational krill manufacturing facility.

Researchers at the University of North Texas found that DART spurred billions of dollars in economic activity as it expanded its light-rail system over an 11-year period. One study said the agency's annual operations generate tens of millions in revenue for government entities. Another concluded that train stations increased property values for surrounding land.
