Solar City Leads Solar Industry Higher on Tax Credit, California
According to Bloomberg Business, Congress agreed to five-year extensions for the production tax credit that supports wind power and the investment tax credit for solar projects. Solar Companies got an additional boost from California, where regulators upheld policies that promote the use of rooftop panels.

Developers in Rancho Cordova Get Extension for Financing
Sacramento Business Journal reports developers of an entertainment center in Rancho Cordova have a few more months to get financing for the project. The city entered into a public-private partnership to make the project happen, committing about $1 million in infrastructure improvements.

Affordable Housing and TOD Project Opens in Vista, CA
As reported by Housing Finance, Community Housing Works announced the opening of their transit-oriented development project that features 68 affordable homes. The $20.5 million project was financed largely with low-income housing tax credits with help from $370,000 of CDBG funds from the City of Carlsbad.

The Pasadena Citizen reports that the City Council has approved plans to refinance up to $55 million in existing bonds to a lower interest rate, saving Pasadena tax payers millions of dollars.

As reported by The Californian, the City Councils of Salinas and Seaside have launched the HERO Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) Program, which enables homeowners to make energy improvements and pay for them over time through their property tax bill.

The United States Department of Energy released the Energy Investment Partnerships Guide, a technical document authored by the Council of Development Finance Agencies that examines how state and local governments can leverage private capital to drive clean energy investment and development.
