WHEFA Completes $7.4M Bond Finance for Charter School
Bond financing facilitated by WHEFA was used by Launchpad Milwaukee to finance the acquisition of Southside Community Prep, an existing K-5 charter school located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Two Milwaukee Start-Ups Receive Tax Credits To Spark Expansion
According to Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, Access HealthNet Holdings Inc., a healthcare technology startup, is eligible for up to $500,000 in tax credits. Mikroflot Technologies LLC, which has developed an innovative method for treating wastewater, has been certified for up to $312,500 in credits.

Governor Walker Wants to Bring Back State Business Loans
Gov. Scott Walker wants to bring back state business loans less than two years after he dropped the once-controversial program. At the time, an audit found several reasons for concern such as job creation numbers not being verified and contracts with provisions not required by law.

Certified Sites Program Now Accepting Applications
The program is open to industrial properties 20 acres or larger. A Certified Site designation indicates that a wide range of concerns have been considered—environmental/geological factors, transportation access, utility/infrastructure capacity, zoning, property rights—and that the site is ready for industrial development.

Walker Calls for $10M Annual Historic Tax Credit Cap
Governor Walker has proposed to limit the Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit program to no more than $10 million a year. He called for the same limit two years ago, but was brushed back by the Legislature after a forceful lobbying effort by development, municipal and historic preservation groups.
