Biden-Harris Administration Announces $184M for Six Recompete Program Awardees
The U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA) announced $184 million in implementation grants for six Recompete Finalists. These awards will create renewed opportunity in economically distressed communities through good-paying, high-quality jobs and improve access to the workforce for Americans. The program, part of the Biden-Harris Administration's Investing in America agenda, is helping revitalize communities historically overlooked by federal investment and driving economic comebacks across the country.

BayCare in Florida May Receive Up to $1.9B in Hillsborough Bond Funding
BayCare Health System could soon receive up to $1.9 billion in tax-exempt bonds to finance renovations to their existing hospitals and construction of several new buildings. Hospital leaders presented their application to Hillsborough County's Industrial Development Authority, a group that issues bonds to fund capital projects that create jobs and boost the county economy. The application was approved unanimously, and the authority's chairperson, Victor DiMaio, noted this would be the largest bond issued in the group's 45-year history.

New Cherokee Nation Rental Housing for Cherokee Elders Funded by HUD
Cherokee Nation leaders joined Stilwell-area community officials for a move-in celebration to mark the completion of six new one bedroom single rental units for Cherokee elders. The new rental housing units were funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Indian Housing Block Grant. The project is part of Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. and Deputy Chief Bryan Warner's historic housing initiatives ongoing across the tribe's reservation.
City of Springfield, MO Receives $1M EPA Grant for Brownfields Revolving Loan Program
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded the City of Springfield with a $1 million check for its Brownfields Revolving Loan Program. Brownfields are properties whose redevelopment or reuse is complicated by potential contamination by lead, asbestos, petroleum, or other hazardous substances.
