Albany, GA, Museum of Art Moving Downtown with RLF Funds
Albany, GA, City Commissioners voted to provide funding needed to move the storm damaged Albany Museum of Art (AMA) downtown. City leaders approved a one million-dollar deferred loan to the museum which will come from the Downtown Development Revolving Loan Fund. 

Monticello, GA, to Purchase Mine Lake Estate with USDA Loan
The Monticello City Council agreed to move forward with the purchase of Mine Lake Estate in Jasper County. The purchase will provide the city with enough water for the foreseeable future, as it has eight operating wells, and a 40+ acre lake. The purchase will be made through USDA grants and loans.

Atlanta Finalizes Deal Saving Water and Wastewater System $43M
Atlanta closed on a water and wastewater refinancing that will save the city nearly $43 million over the life of the bonds, said Siebert Cisneros Shank & Co., the book-runner for the deal.

GA Mayor's Commission Considers Another SPLOST for Replacing Government Center
A commission studying the possibility of replacing the 46-year-old Columbus Government Center ventured into the dicey arena of finances. City Finance Director Angelica Alexander presented the commission with several ways to fund the project, which could cost anywhere from $68 million to $100 million, depending on whether the building is renovated or replaced.

Atlanta, GA, Commits to Running on Renewable Energy
Atlanta lawmakers approved a resolution committing the city to transitioning toward running entirely on renewable energy sources, including wind and solar, by 2035. The city council unanimously approved the measure, which will first transition all city buildings by 2025.

GA Governor Deal Signs Two Tax Credit Bills
House Bill 199 will provide a 20 percent tax credit for post-production companies with at least a $250,000 payroll in Georgia. House Bill 265 exempts from state and local sales taxes building materials used for renovating or expanding performance arts venues run by a nonprofit organization containing an art museum, symphonic hall and theater.

$100K in Funding Renovates First Four of More than 10 Homes in GA
More than $100,000 of the $306,000 CHIP grant funds have been used to repair at least four homes in Carrollton. The Carrollton Housing Authority will begin improvements on another three homes soon and will continue the work until about a dozen homes are completed.

GA Development Authority Focuses on Incentives for Businesses
The Brunswick and Glynn County Development Authority has turned its attention to business incentives. The organization is discussing two packages currently for business development projects in the area.
