P3 Financing Will be Used for New AZ Highway
The Arizona Department of Transportation has reported that the public-private partnership (P3) constructing the $1.9 billion Phoenix-area Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway will deliver the project in late 2019, three years ahead of schedule.
AZ a Top State for Private Equity Investment
The Grand Canyon State is not only rich in natural landmarks, but rich in opportunity for small businesses. The American Investment Council ranked Arizona as the 19th state in the United States for private equity investment in 2016.
Phoenix Receives High Bond Rating from All Three Agencies
Phoenix officials are crowing about the high ratings they received from all three rating agencies, saying they saved taxpayers $15 million on a $231 million bond issue they recently floated. The city received AA+ and Aa2 ratings from Fitch Ratings, Moody's Investor Services and Standard & Poor's S&P Global.
Phoenix IDA Uses Bond Finance to Support Senior Housing
Scottsdale-based Solterra Senior Living is building three low-income assisted living projects totaling $66 million. For the two Phoenix properties, they used Phoenix Industrial Development Authority to procure the bonds and will use Arizona Industrial Development Authority for the Avondale project.
How is AZ Solving Food Deserts?
The city of Phoenix will provide $18.3 million in incentives to support a new downtown grocer. This is just one example of the current efforts in Arizona to alleviate food deserts. Other efforts include community gardens and extra EBT bucks for purchasing local produce.
Governor Ducey Signed Angel Investor Tax Credit Bill
Ducey signed three bills that boost tax incentives for big and small business, one of which is a new $10 million "angel investor" tax credit program for capital infusions into small businesses.
