The full Arizona House on Thursday rejected a measure allowing big manufacturing companies like chip-maker Intel to use millions of dollars of existing tax credits they can't currently cash in, despite efforts by the Republican sponsor to make it more palatable.

New AZ Bill May Allow Companies to Cash In Tax Credits
The bill allows companies to use their current tax credits to get cash refunds or sales tax offsets when they build new facilities. Many companies can't currently use the credits because previous tax breaks leave them owing no corporate income tax.

$925K Chase Grant Supports Phoenix Entrepreneurs
Chase awarded $925,000 in eight grants to organizations that provide programs to assist underserved entrepreneurs, including women and minority small businesses, throughout the state. That number is over double what they handed out at the kick-off of last year's Phoenix Startup week.

Congressman O'Halleran Supports New Deal Rural Broadband Act
Nearly 40 percent of rural America lacks broadband internet access. The New Deal Rural Broadband Act would authorize $20 billion in federal funds for infrastructure. It would also establish an office to manage internet access programs nationwide and streamline investment.

La Paz County Issues RFP for 1.5GW of Solar Energy
The RFP is leveraging on congressman Paul Gosar's recent jobs bill introduced to encourage economic development in rural Arizona. HR 6491, introduced in December 2016, authorized the secretary of the Interior to utilize land in La Paz County to facilitate renewable energy projects for the western US.
