Federal Judge Overturns OK of Illiana Toll Road
A federal judge has ruled that the federal government's approval of the controversial Illiana toll road is invalid. According to The Bond Buyer, the decision could deliver a death blow to the bi-state project, which has already been on life support.
Mayor Proposes $4.5M for Small Business Improvement Fund
Mayor Emmanuel has proposed expanding the Small Business Improvement Fund (SBIF) into two additional TIF districts, according to the City of Chicago. TIF revenues from the SBIF program are captured to help owners in the district repair their businesses with up to $150,000 in grants.
FCC Funds to Expand Broadband to Rural Customers
Frontier Communications Corp. now has financial backing from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to provide more than 650,000 rural farmers, business owners and residents in its coverage area with speedy, affordable broadband service, According to American City & County.

Rep. Hultgren (R-IL) and Rep. Neal (D-MA) introduced the Modernizing American Manufacturing Bonds Act (MAMBA) of 2015. H.R. 2890, supported by CDFA and hundreds of issuers throughout the country, is a comprehensive package that will modernize and revolutionize manufacturing bonds.
