EPA Region 7 Presents Checks Totaling Over $3M to St. Louis, MO Organizations
In St. Louis, The Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority of St. Louis County was selected for a $1.9 million grant for cleanups in disadvantaged areas, and the St. Louis Development Corporation was selected for $1 million for cleanup projects in Fountain Park, The Ville, Midtown, and North Riverfront.

Lynwood, CA to Receive Over $5M for Land Cleanup
The City of Lynwood has received notification that it will be eligible for over $5 million in state funding to clean up three adjacent pieces of land in the city—which will be used for economic development bringing jobs and retail to the city. The City applied to the DTSC's Office of Brownfield to investigate environmental damage and clean up land in the Alameda Triangle and on Long Beach Boulevard.

More Federal Funding is Heading to New Jersey for Brownfield Cleanups
New Jersey is getting a new tranche of federal money to clean up Brownfield sites, land that was previously used mostly for industrial purposes and may have been contaminated. The bipartisan infrastructure law signed by President Biden last year provides New Jersey with $6.5 million of the $1.5 billion in funding.

EPA Presents $250K Check to Fort Dodge, IA After Their Selection for Brownfields Grant
The city was selected for cleanup at the Former Greenleaf Healthcare Facility, a former nursing home that is contaminated with inorganic contaminants, including asbestos. Grant funds will also be used to conduct community outreach, such as public meetings, and will go toward developing a website for the project.

Paterson, NJ to Benefit from Part of $6.5M in EPA Brownfields-Specific Funding
Paterson, N.J. will benefit from the more than $250 million in funding recently awarded across the country to 265 communities. NJEDA is receiving a $2 million grant to assess 73 contaminated sites in communities throughout the state. Brownfield sites in the 13 municipalities designated as high priority by the State of New Jersey due to historic disinvestment will be prioritized for work under this grant.

Governor DeWine Announces 112 Brownfield Remediation Projects Throughout Ohio
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted today announced state support for 112 brownfield remediation projects that will help clean up contaminated properties in Ohio to make way for future economic development. As part of the Ohio Brownfield Remediation Program, the Ohio Department of Development is awarding $192 million for projects impacting 41 Ohio counties with a total of $192 million in grant awards.

Naugatuck Valley, CT Receives More Than $4M in Federal Funds for Brownfield Cleanup
The Naugatuck Valley will receive more than $4 million from the federal government in brownfield cleanup and remediation grants. Waterbury has over 100 brownfields, and there are more than 200 in the 19 towns in the Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments region. Connecticut alone will see close to $7 million for brownfield cleanup.
