Transformation of Historic Swayze Apartments into Supportive Housing Continues
The non-profit Communities First will use money awarded from LIHTCs from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority and Federal Historic Preservation tax credits. Roughly $670,973 will come from the city of Flint's Community Development Bloc Grant program, The Flint Journal previously reported.

Grand Rapids Firm Raises $5M Venture Capital Fund
Grand Rapids-based Charter Capital Partners has raised a $5-million venture capital fund to continue investing in Michigan companies. The firm said it has closed its MAF Opportunity Fund, which the firm designed to invest in companies backed by its predecessor fund, the Michigan Accelerator Fund I.

TIF Plan Supporting Great Lakes Center for the Arts Approved
Emmet County commissioners unanimously approved a TIF funding plan that will give back $1.6 million to the Great Lakes Center for the Arts over 20 years. The arts center will use those funds to help with site and infrastructure costs.

Detroit Economic Development Corp Site Secures Flex-N-Gate Facility to Supply Ford
MEDC announced Michigan Strategic Fund approval of a $3.5-million Business Development Program grant to incentivize the project. At the same time, the Detroit EDC approved the sale of 30 acres in the industrial park to Flex-N-Gate.
