Solving Port of Portland Problems
Governor Brown announced the allocation of $300,000 in state funds to help the Port and Business Oregon assist businesses. According to the Oregonian, Business Oregon will help small- and medium-sized importers and exporters focus on long-term solutions.
OR and WA Push Ahead with Manufacturing Partnership
The federal Investing in Manufacturing Communities Partnership intends to accelerate manufacturing in the U.S. According to the Statesman Journal, the Pacific Northwest Manufacturing Partnership will allow for collaboration among northwest manufacturers to leverage federal funds.
Salem Gets Serious About Redeveloping Brownfields
According to Portland Business Journal, the Oregon Brownfields Coalition is advancing bills and legislation to capitalize a fund to clean contaminated sites in the state. The group hopes to achieve a tax incentive program, new funding for cleanups, and local authority to create land banks.
Oregon Gov. Announces $1.7M Financial Package
Governor Brown announced a $545,000 state grant to fund hangars and storage facilities at the Pendleton Unmanned Aerial Systems Range. According to the East Oregonian, Business Oregon will add another $1.1 million to the package.
Legislators Reviewing if State Budget Should Keep Offset Property Tax Breaks
According to the Portland Tribune, legislators are reviewing whether the state budget should continue to offset property tax breaks. The Senate Finance and Revenue Committee has three bills pending regarding the details of changes.
Business Oregon Releases Guide for 2015-17 Budget
The 2015-2017 Business Oregon budget requests $649 million for programs supporting infrastructure, business, innovation, trade, and culture.
