$930M Seattle Transportation Levy
A Seattle transportation levy would fund initiatives and provide leverage to obtain state and federal funds for the transportation network. Puget Sound Business Journal reports the funding would increase safety routes for pedestrians and cyclists, provide maintenance and repairs, and relieve congestion.
VC Funding Jumps 228 Percent for Seattle Area Tech Companies
According to Puget Sound Business Journal, venture capital firms have injected more money into the Seattle metro area's technology industry, which has fared far better than other industries during the third quarter. Through the third quarter of 2015, local venture funding for tech sector was $312.5 million.
Chinese Developer Sees Tacoma Tract's Upside
According to Seattle Times, a Chinese real-estate firm has signed an agreement with the City of Tacoma to build a residential and commercial project on a large, undeveloped downtown tract. This is the latest example of the EB-5 visa program financing development in the Seattle metro area.
