$4M in Grants Spur Eastern KY Economic Development
Three grants worth almost $5 million will spur economic development and job creation in Eastern Kentucky. Two of the grants were awarded by the EEC's Division of Abandoned Mine Lands, as part of the 2016 Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) Pilot program to revitalize the coalfields in Kentucky's Appalachian region.

KY DFI Releases Annual Report
The report summarizes the status of state-chartered banks, credit unions, lenders, and investment firms and professionals operating in Kentucky. The report also highlights DFI's work to promote reasonable regulation and consumer protection industry-wide.

KY Bond Ratings Downgraded
Kentucky's economic outlook took another hit as Moody's downgraded the state's bond ratings from Aa2 to Aa3 following the announcement the state failed to make its revenue estimates for the fiscal year and in light of its growing public pension problems.

KY Searching for Ways to Fund Roads and Bridges
In Kentucky on June 28, House Speaker Jeff Hoover appointed a bipartisan transportation task force to examine state roads and bridges needs and options. The task force will make recommendations by December, in advance of the 2018 General Assembly that convenes in January.
