Milledgeville City Council to Use RLF's to Fund Projects
Resolutions have been adopted by the Milledgeville City Council which gives the mayor the opportunity to seek funding for two proposed projects from the Georgia Cities Foundation RLF, as well as from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs Downtown Development RLF.
Rome BID Presents Check to Support Free Downtown Shuttle Service
The Downtown Development Authority Board presented a check on behalf of the Rome Business Improvement District today for $8,000 to The Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau to help support the new, free shuttle service in Downtown Rome.
City of Waynesboro Will Save $1.2M by Refinancing Bonds
The City of Waynesboro is taking steps which will save $1.2 million by refinancing bonds which were issued over a decade ago to fund utility and solid waste operations.
Alpharetta OKs $1.3M in Road Design Work
The Alpharetta City Council has approved paying an engineering consultant $302,529 to oversee seven road projects to be funded mainly by the recently approved T-SPLOST for Fulton County outside Atlanta.
Stockbridge, GA, to Invest $3M for Public Infrastructure
The city of Stockbridge officials voted to re-annex a property for the planned Jodeco Atlanta South development into the city limits. The city plans to install public roads to provide access to and within the development at a cost of up to $3 million using the city's SPLOST dollars designated for roads.
Savannah Proposes 4 Options to Restore $400K to Social Services
City staffers have proposed four options for restoring about $400,000 in cultural and social services funding to the 2017 budget, after community opposition at last week's budget hearing prompted the Savannah City Council to request alternatives to the cuts.
Invest Atlanta Gives $1M Grant for Sweet Auburn Ballroom
Atlanta's economic development arm just doled out a $1 million grant to bring music to Sweet Auburn. The 1920's Butler Street YMCA building is going to be renovated into Sweet Auburn Ballroom, a 1,200 person music venue.
Newnan Approves $75K Loan for Urban Redevelopment Authority
Newnan's Urban Redevelopment Authority plans to begin rehabilitating houses and then sell them to new homeowners. The money from the home sales will be put into a fund to buy and rehab more houses. The Newnan City Council approved a $75,000 loan to get the project off the ground.
