CDFA National Summit Call for Submissions
CDFA is accepting session submissions for the 2017 National Development Finance Summit in Atlanta this November. Session submissions on deals, projects or programs that include multiple funding sources are highly encouraged. Submissions are due by May 12, 2017.

Goodyear Announces $100K in Support of Akron RLF
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company today announced that it is contributing $100,000 to the Development Fund of the Western Reserve ("DFWR") to support the Akron Community Revitalization Loan Fund. DFWR is affiliated with the Development Finance Authority of Summit County.

Banks Were Held Accountable to More Neighborhoods in 2016
National Community Reinvestment Coalition say they are starting to see the impact from working with banks and developing community reinvestment plans that help banks meet their requirement under the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).

Former Bengal Launches New Minority Business Accelerator
Hillman Accelerator was built specifically to attract and accelerate tech companies founded by women and ethnic minorities. Hillman will recruit five teams to move to Cincinnati and build their businesses during the four-month program, which will run from June to October.

OH Ranks Number One for Completed Federal Historic Projects
The Buckeye State completed 103 Federal Historic Tax Credit projects in fiscal year 2016 (October 2015-September 2016). That includes seven projects completed in Greater Cincinnati during that time along with three others that were still underway.

Akron Revitalization RLF Gets Boost from New Donations
Several community members — Paul Thomarios, Paul Testa, David Brennan and the Development Finance Authority of Summit County — contributed grants totaling $70,000. Those grants come on the heels of two $100,000 grants from Akron Children's Hospital and FirstEnergy Corp. at the end of March.

Significant 2016 Year-End Ohio Historic Preservation Developments
In December 2016, Substitute Senate Bill Number 235 was enacted. This bill granted a catalytic award to each person who had previously applied for a catalytic award for the fiscal year 2016-2017 biennium, and whose application was not previously approved.

OH is Among the Top States for Venture Capital
When it comes to attracting venture capital deals and dollars, Ohio finds itself ranked in the top 20 states — and sometimes the top 15, a new report says. Last year, Ohio saw $256.6 million in venture-capital deals, down from $400.3 million deals in 2015, according to a new report.
