Prince George's County Making Big Investment in Suitland Prince George's County is taking the rare step of acting as master developer and investing roughly $100M to build a mixed-use town center in Suitland. Capital Costs at an All-Time Low for Local Government Infrastructure Financing Program The latest round of bonds issued through the MD Dept. of Housing and Community Development's Local Government Infrastructure Financing program had the lowest capital cost in its 28 year operating history. Baltimore City Council Approves $660M Bond Deal for Port Covington Project The Baltimore City Council gave its final approval to a $660 million public financing package for Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank's massive Port Covington project. City, County Governments Face Shortfall in Funding for Monocacy Boulevard Project A key city infrastructure project is facing a potential setback after contractors' bids came in more than 40 percent higher than the anticipated project cost. The city is now exploring ways to cut cost and finance the project. Baltimore Project Would Include Largest TIF District in City History The proposed $6.9 billion Port Covington development project in Baltimore would include the largest tax increment financing district in the city's history and would be financed in part with $660 million of bonds backed by the increased property tax revenues.
