Rural Focus for Business Oregon's 2015 Agenda
Business Oregon's 2015 Rural Agenda seeks to address the lack of rural economic development in the state. The agenda would support projects to: make rural Oregon a center for natural resources innovation, invest in infrastructure supporting rural job growth, and support community development.
Oregon Brownfields Bill Could Help Get Sites Cleaned Up, Developed
According to Oregon Metro, House Bill 2734 would enable communities to establish limited liability organizations, or "land banks", and offer limited property tax cuts to property owners to address the remediation of brownfields.
Grow Oregon Delivers $47M in Direct Economic Impact
Oregon Economic Development Association reports that Grow Oregon delivered $47M in direct economic impact through economic gardening, an economic development approached used by Grow Oregon.
Oregon Rural Made
As a part of the USDA's commitment to strengthening rural economies, a state-by-state "Made in Rural America" report has been released for each state. Each state's fact sheet highlights specific USDA investments in rural businesses, manufacturing, energy, water, and other infrastructure development.
Business Oregon Start Small-Business Innovation Fund
KTVZ reports that Business Oregon has launched a $400,000 grant fund to help small businesses earn a share of the $2.5 billion in federal research grants awarded annually for the research and development of new products.
