Counties are responsible for providing core services, such as human services, criminal justice, public welfare and infrastructure, to communities of all sizes across America. To ensure the delivery of these essential services, support job growth and maintain a healthy revenue base, counties invest in economic development activities in a number of ways.

According to the Pittsburgh Business Times, plans for a Hill District TIF are being scaled back to keep uses in line with state requirements. TIF may now form part of a larger financing plan to help address workforce and housing in the area.

The $3M initiative will deploy a collaborative network of workforce and economic development organizations. The strategy will assist regional manufacturers, provide international export and foreign investment support, and conduct a comprehensive assessment of PA companies statewide that provide goods and services to the DOD.

This study analyzed the role of microfinancing programs in providing financial services to small businesses located in rural Pennsylvania counties. Microfinancing focuses on providing loans less than or equal to $50,000 to individuals who typically operate a business of five employees or fewer.

Join the CDFA Pennsylvania Financing Roundtable for the fourth annual conference. This one-day event will feature a number of economic development finance experts from around the state discussing new development finance tools, authorities, resources and approaches, and how these methods can affect the Pennsylvania economy going forward.

CDFA is excited to announce a two-year partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development. This initiative will first focus on an increase in development finance education and resources for USDA's internal staff of 3,800+ field representatives. The initiative will also promote USDA funding and financing best practices for rural communities.
