Pittsburgh Scales Back Plans for Hill District TIF
According to the Pittsburgh Business Times, plans for a Hill District TIF are being scaled back to keep uses in line with state requirements. TIF may now form part of a larger financing plan to help address workforce and housing in the area.
Northeast PA Receives $3M Manufacturing Grant from DOD
The $3M initiative will deploy a collaborative network of workforce and economic development organizations. The strategy will assist regional manufacturers, provide international export and foreign investment support, and conduct a comprehensive assessment of PA companies statewide that provide goods and services to the DOD.
The Economic Viability of Microfinancing in Rural PA
This study analyzed the role of microfinancing programs in providing financial services to small businesses located in rural Pennsylvania counties. Microfinancing focuses on providing loans less than or equal to $50,000 to individuals who typically operate a business of five employees or fewer.
URA of Pittsburgh Awarded CDFA Excellence in Tax Credit Finance Award
CDFA to present the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh with the CDFA Excellence in Tax Credit Finance Award. URA, along with other government agencies and partners helped to transform a blighted property using various forms of financing.

CDFA Announces USDA Rural Development Partnership
CDFA is excited to announce a two-year partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development. This initiative will first focus on an increase in development finance education and resources for USDA's internal staff of 3,800+ field representatives. The initiative will also promote USDA funding and financing best practices for rural communities.
