AZ Launches Five-Year Infrastructure Construction Program
State officials said the program, which includes almost $500 million for Interstate 10–related projects alone, aims to improve transportation capacity along major commerce routes. This program includes the $1.9 billion Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway Project P3.
Phoenix IDA Community Development Fund Awards Announced
Nine awards were made this round to support economic development, community development, education, and health innovation throughout Phoenix.
$3M EDA Grant Will Support New Sahuarita, AZ Manufacturing Project
According to a town of Sahuarita news release, the grant will be used to establish the Sahuarita Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Center (SAMTEC), which will house several businesses with the intent of establishing a small business innovation, research, and technology cluster.
AZ Startups Raise Nearly $52M Last Quarter
Arizona companies received $51.77 million investment in 12 deals during the second quarter of 2017, according to the PwC/CB Insights MoneyTree Report. This is down from $55.68 million investment from five deals from the same quarter a year ago.
Phoenix IDA Issues Bonds to Support Low-Income Housing Rehab
The borrower plans to use the funds to purchase the 267-unit multifamily housing complex and conduct an extensive interior and exterior rehabilitation. The $14.775 million project will include refurbishment of the kitchens and bathrooms, new appliances, lighting and flooring, as well as energy efficient windows.
