Walker & Dunlop, Inc. Dedicate $23M Loan for Student Property in Austin According to Market Watch, Walker & Dunlop, Inc. announced a $23M acquisition loan for a student housing apartment complex called the Ballpark located in Austin, Texas. The Ballpark is a dedicated student apartment complex that will receive upgraded amenities like a computer lab, free internet, volleyball court, athletic field, and fitness facility. Investor Visas Offer Foreigners Fast-Track to Green Cards According to the Houston Chronicle, interest in the EB-5 Visa program has increased from about 600 issued in 2008 to more than 5100 this year. The program is appealing in places with a booming real estate market, like Houston. Waco, Texas OKs Economic Development Incentives for SpaceX A blog by Economic Development HQ stated that Space Exploration Technologies Corporation is expanding its land lease and plans to invest $46.3M at the McGregor Industrial Park in McGregor, TX over the next five years. The project will create 300 new full time SpaceX jobs by 2018. Fort Worth, TX City Council Creates Stockyards TIF Fort Worth, TX City Council unanimously approved creating a tax increment financing district for a part of north Fort Worth including the Stockyards. According to Star-Telegram, the district is expected to generate $40M over 20 years.
