The issuers of the Midwest sold $41 billion of municipal bonds in the first half of 2016, according to Thomson Reuters data.

SEC Charges 71 Municipal Issuers in Muni Bond Disclosure Initiative

Recent Developments in Green Bonds
The Green Bond market accounted for $800 million of issuance in 2007, but has expanded significantly every year since then. Moody's reported in February 2016 that Green Bond issuance for 2016 could exceed $50 billion.
