Illinois EDGE Jobs Program Could See New Life
Illinois' premier jobs program could see new life under an amendment filed by an Illinois House Democrat. The amendment seeks to extend the EDGE program, short for Economic Development for a Growing Economy, through the end of April.
Amazon Nets $13M in Tax Credits From IL
The agreement will grant Amazon tax benefits totaling $12.9 million over 10 years in response to the company's commitment to create at least 1,000 new jobs during that period.

Illinois may look to private investors to help finance a $2.7 billion freeway expansion project in Chicago due to overwhelming response to a tolled lane project that is being developed as a public-private partnership.
IL EDGE Tax Credit Program Set to Expire
Illinois' business community is about to get unhappy year-end news: the state's main job incentive program is going away—at least for now. The state's Edge tax credit program will expire Dec. 31 as government leaders have not agreed on a plan to avoid an automatic year-end sunset.
Southern IL Communities Receive Funding for Infrastructure
The Delta Regional Authority announced that it was investing $4 million into local communities. The DRA is a partnership between the federal and state governments, to help create jobs, build communities and improve the lives of people in 252 counties and parishes across eight states.
TIF Funds Sought in Downtown Springfield Redevelopment Project
A $985 thousand TIF could support an $8.5 million project to convert a former Springfield church into apartments and office space. The TIF still needs to be approved by the city's Economic Development Commission.
