The city of Augusta has experienced success with its tax increment financing program, receiving approximately $873,000 in proceeds to date, reports Mainebiz.
Knoxville Commission to Consider PILOT for State Street Project
A proposed payment in lieu of taxes, or a PILOT, would be for a 147-unit residential development in downtown Knoxville on State Street, according to the Knoxville News Sentinel. The annual payment in property taxes for the development would be $51,450 each year for 11 years.

According to the Herald-Dispatch, the development of the proposed Tanyard Station retail center, a 50-acre site of the former CSX railroad yard, received TIF approval from the Cabell County Commission.
Creating City No. 39 in Palm Beach County from SID
A 2012 Florida law allowing a special improvement district to convert to a city may be the foundation for the proposed town of Westlake's five registered voters to create Palm Beach County's 39th city. They'll have to craft a charter, elect a city commission and mayor and pass a budget.
