Continuum Care Community Receives Financing, Breaks Ground
Heron's Key hit several milestones to break ground, like receiving $145 million in non-rated, fixed-rate bonds from specialty investment bank Ziegler. According to KPBJ, Heron's Key is an apartment property that was approved by the Washington State Housing Finance Commission for a low-income housing tax credit.
Seattle Transit Riders Union (TRU) Wants Businesses to Help Pay for Transit Improvements
To help pay for capital improvements to the city's bus rapid transit system, Seattle's Transit Riders Union (TRU) wants to reinstate an Employee Hours Tax (EHT), which requires employers to pay an annual fee for every employee they have on staff. According to Next City, the cost would be based on congestion zones with businesses in the congested downtown core paying the most.
$119M in Financing Approved by WSHFC for Hundreds of Affordable Homes
The Washington State Housing Finance Commission approved $119 million in financing to create and preserve affordable homes across the western part of the state. The commission approved financing by issuing tax-exempt bonds and allocating Low-Income Housing Tax Credits.
SEC Freezes Assets of Alleged EB-5 Fraudster in Seattle Area
The SEC announced an asset freeze obtained against a man in Bellevue, Washington, accused of defrauding Chinese investors seeking U.S. residency through the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Pilot Program by investing in his companies.
