Bills Introduced to Extend WA Film Incentives
HB 1527 and SB 5502 are two bills being considered by the state legislature that would extend the life of the Washington Motion Picture Competitiveness program, which offers filmmakers cash incentives to hire local crews and buy supplies in-state.
P3 May Support Regional High Speed Rail in WA
Governor Jay Inslee in his 2017-19 biennial budget has proposed $1 million to fund a feasibility study on an ultra-high speed rail line between Portland and Vancouver, B.C, which business leaders say could strengthen regional economic development.
WA May Form State Tourism Marketing Authority
Washington would no longer be the only state in the nation without a statewide tourism-marketing program under legislation introduced in both the state House and Senate. The legislation would create an industry-led Tourism Marketing Authority and provide performance-based industry funding mechanisms.
Walsh and Blake Push WA Rural Jobs Act
Jim Walsh appeared before the House Technology and Economic Development Committee on Wednesday morning to testify on behalf of the Washington Rural Jobs Act. House Bill 1422, jointly sponsored by Brian Blake, aims to spur economic development and job growth in rural areas.

Tacoma Neighborhood Small Innovative Grants Available
Through the City of Tacoma's 2017 Neighborhood Small Innovative Grant Program, community groups within Tacoma's eight Neighborhood Council districts can apply – now through March 1 – for grant funding supporting neighborhood improvement activities or projects.
WA Revitalization Board Invests $850K in Public Infrastructure
The release of CERB funds to these projects is contingent upon each applicant completing specific pre-contract requirements, such as finalizing other funding sources and obtaining necessary permits. Since 1982, CERB has committed nearly $163 million to local jurisdictions across the state.
