October Sets New Record for Municipal Bond Issuance
Sales of municipal bonds and notes soared to a record $52.5 billion in October, the biggest month of issuance since records began in the 1980s, according to Thomson Reuters data.

JEDA Bonds Finance New Student Housing at Converse College
NCCD-Spartanburg Properties is using $10.2 million in bond funding from the South Carolina JEDA to finance new student housing on the campus of Converse College in Spartanburg. The financing includes $10 million in tax-exempt revenue bonds and $215,000 in taxable bonds.
Considerations for Developing Post-Issuance Tax Compliance Procedures
The National Association of Bond Lawyers (NABL) has prepared this publication in coordination with the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) to assist issuers and conduit borrowers and their advisors in establishing effective procedures to comply with tax rules relating to tax-advantaged bonds, including tax-exempt bonds, tax credit bonds and taxable direct-pay bonds.
St. Louis Redevelopment Authority Approves $120M Bond Issue
The St. Louis Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority (LCRA) approved a resolution allowing it to issue $120 million in bonds to be used on site work for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency's (NGA) new western headquarters. Bond proceeds will be used to pay for acquiring land in the north St. Louis site and environmental work.
FL Cat Fund in Best Financial Shape Ever
The Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund says it's in its best financial shape ever, though $454 million in damage claims have been filed across the state because of Hurricane Matthew.
