State Rural Development Councils (SRDCs) are organizations representing all levels of government, community, regional nonprofit organizations, and the private sector. The SRDCs can implement best practices, obtain technical assistance, determine funding sources, and assist local leaders with community development. This 2015 annual report highlights the impact that several SRDCs have had on rural citizens.

Arizona Commerce Authority, the state's economic development agency, reported that startups are supported by more than 50 accelerators and incubators that provide technical expertise and funding. According to AZ Central, $595 million of venture capital was invested in 71 Arizona companies from 2011-2013, to create thousands of jobs.
