Seven PA Small Business Projects Supported With Low Interest Loans
Over the past month, PIDA approved a total of more than $2 million in fixed, low-interest loans to seven projects in Bucks, Cumberland, Franklin, Lancaster, and Perry counties that will generate more than $5.5 million in matching capital investment.
Grant Supports SW PA Food Hub
The Fayette County Community Action Agency and Republic Food Enterprise Center have been approved for a $1.75 million grant through the Appalachian Regional Commission's Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization initiative to develop a local food shed in southwestern Pennsylvania.
$75M Investment Announced for PA Water Infrastructure
The funding comes from a combination of state funds approved by voters, federal grants to PENNVEST from the Environmental Protection Agency and recycled loan repayments from previous PENNVEST funding awards. Funds for the projects are disbursed after bills for work are paid and receipts are submitted to PENNVEST.
TIF Could Support Town Square in Downtown Hershey, PA
The developers put forward a plan earlier this year calling for a mixed-use development, with residential and retail units in the same complex. The plan also included a three-story parking garage which the developers proposed to create a tax-increment finance district to help fund.
Ben Franklin to Invest Nearly $400K in PA Companies
The Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania's (BFTP/NEP) Board of Directors has approved the investment of $397,543 in support of regional economic development. BFTP/NEP's goal is to help lead northeastern Pennsylvania to a better economic future.
City Center Could Tap $1B in Tax Subsidies
City Center Investment Corp., Allentown's largest developer, projects it will have access to up to $1.3 billion in tax subsidies over the next 25 years, making it among the biggest beneficiaries of taxpayer subsidies in Pennsylvania history.
