FL Supreme Court Affirms PACE and Preserves Home Rule The Florida Supreme Court affirmed the constitutionality of the Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) statute in Florida and the Home Rule powers for cities and counties, as reported by PR Newswire. FL Tower Begins Accepting EB-5 Funding A Miami developer announced it will begin accepting applications for funding through the city's regional EB-5 visa program, according to the South Florida Business Journal. The $800 million project is seeking about $48 million in EB-5 funds. Miami-Dade Tries to Break P3 Mold The Bond Buyer reports Miami-Dade County plans to break the traditional P3 mold with what its leader calls an innovative capital program that could surpass $7.85 billion. FL Offers Small Biz Lending Programs As reported by the Pensacola News Journal, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity has $10 million in available funds for two small-business microfinance programs, which entrepreneurs often do not know exists. The loans can be used for startup costs, working capital and to purchase supplies, materials and equipment.
