Audit Questions if Donated Lands in CO are Worth $1B in Tax Breaks Colorado's nearly billion-dollar conservation easement program pays more attention to whether a land donation qualifies for a tax break rather than the merit of its conservation value to the state. Auditors said that even though about $965 million in tax credits have been approved on over 4,200 easement donations since January 2000. Englewood CO Revamps its Economic Incentives Program The City of Englewood has revamped its economic incentives program in an attempt to lure businesses of all sizes. The new incentives program focuses on startup businesses, training for business owners, tax credits and it offers commercial and industrial site selection for prospective tenants and developers. CO Rural Tax Credit Program to Create a Level Field Colorado's Rural Jump-Start Tax Credit Program has helped put Mesa County on the radar of prospective businesses because it's a limited opportunity. The purpose of this was to create a competitive advantage that wouldn't exist otherwise. CO Wants More Precision in Economic Development Incentives The Colorado Economic Development Commission approved a new scoring matrix for its popular Job Growth Incentive Tax Credit program, one designed to more precisely target state incentive awards. Companies Considering CO Growth Get State Incentives Colorado Economic Development Commission members offered some $7.5 million in incentives Thursday to three companies considering bringing more than 800 combined jobs to Colorado.
