GA Senate Passed Atlanta Beltline Bill
In an article by the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the Georgia Senate passed legislation that would give the Atlanta Beltline access to additional funding. Under Senate Bill 4, Atlanta Beltline, Inc. world be able to enter into public-private partnerships to finance Beltline projects. The bill now moves to the State House of Representatives.
Georgia Rural Made
As a part of the USDA's commitment to strengthening rural economies, a state-by-state "Made in Rural America" report has been released for each state. Each state factsheet highlights specific USDA investments in rural businesses, manufacturing, energy, water, and other infrastructure development.
GEFA Awards $12M in Infrastructure Loans
Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) announced eleven communities in Georgia were awarded $12,354,701 for water, water supply, sewer and wastewater infrastructure improvements by GEFA's board of directors.
$10M NMTC Project Completed and Atlanta Advantage Loan Fund Established
In the latest Invest Atlanta Newsletter, it was announced that Atlanta Emerging Markets, Inc. completed a $10 million New Markets Tax Credits transaction. The NMTC funding will help the Southside Medical Center to increase their capacity. In addition, through a partnership with Advantage Capital and SunTrust Bank, the Atlanta Emerging Markets Inc., established the $8 million Atlanta Advantage Loan Fund.
P3 Bill Introduced to GA Senate
In an article by Atlanta Business Chronicle, legislation was introduced to the GA Senate that would expand state agencies and local governments ability to work with the private sector to finance and construct public buildings and infrastructure. The Senate passed a similar bill last year, but the measure didn't reach the House floor for a vote.
