MMDC Announces RLF to Help Mt. Pleasant Businesses
Middle Michigan Development Corporation (MMDC) announced a new regional loan fund to bring more opportunities for Pleasant-based businesses and to create increased lending activity. The loans can be for real estate, equipment, or working capital.
Brownfield Plan Approved for Birmingham, MI Site
The Birmingham, MI City Commission has approved a brownfield plan for a new three-story building to be built on the site of the former Green's Art Supply. According to Downtown, the developer will be getting funds from a TIF district.
Michigan to Fight Blight Using $75M in Federal Funding
The Michigan State Housing Development Authority plans to address blight issues in 12 cities using $75 million in federal funding according to Detroit Free Press. The plans follow the 2013 kickoff of a major blight-removal effort for the state.
Cedar Rapids, MI Council Backs Three TIF deals
City Council endorses three TIF incentives. The projects include The Hunter Companies' project, the Berthel Fisher project, and the New Pioneer project.
MEDC Awarded CDFA Distinguished Development Finance Agency Award
CDFA will present the CDFA Distinguished Development Finance Agency Award (State Agency) to Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) at the 2014 CDFA National Development Finance Summit in Scottsdale, AZ. MEDC has been key in Michigan's re-emerging economy.
