MO Task Force Recommends Cuts to Historic Tax Credit Program
A task force established by Gov. Greitens to examine state tax credit policy has returned with recommendations that preservationists say would substantially cut the historic tax credit program and make it much more difficult to utilize.
Export Challenge Will Provide $60K to MO Entrepreneurs
First place will receive $25,000, second place will receive $15,000 and third place will receive $10,000. Additionally, two Bright Futures prizes will be awarded at $5,000 each. Finalists will receive one-on-one export mentor support, foreign market research services and a full scholarship for the online Chancellor's Certificate in International Trade.
39 North Promises Continued Investment in St. Louis AgTech
39 North is a 10-year effort unveiled in December 2016 by St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger to transform a 600-acre area in Creve Coeur into a new agriculture technology (AgTech) innovation district. The goal is to leverage and build upon the area's assets by physically connecting the district.
Public vs. Private Financing for KCI? Officials Say the Details Will Count
Tax-exempt bonds are usually the best, lowest-cost way to finance major public projects, but it's not yet possible to say that's superior to privately financing Kansas City International Airport improvements, city finance officials said.
New MO Audit Examines Revenue Loss of Tax Credit Programs
About $418 million in tax credits redeemed in fiscal year 2016 went to programs that returned less to the state than the cost, according to the report. That's about 73 percent of total redemptions.
