Grovetown, GA, to Consider Bids to Build Wastewater Treatment Plant
The project to build a new wastewater treatment plant in Grovetown, Georgia, is moving full speed ahead after being awarded a grant from the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority for the $23 million needed to start construction.
Atlanta Approves $9M from TIF for New Housing Development
The Invest Atlanta Board of Directors passed a resolution approving the use of $9 million from the Eastside Tax Allocation District for the development of a $90.5 million, 14-story, 302-unit residential tower in downtown Atlanta. Sixty of the units, or 20 percent of the total units, will be set aside as affordable workforce housing.
Pooler, GA Officials OK Bond Issue for Senior Housing Community
Officials in Pooler cleared the city's development authority to issue up to $8 million in bonds for construction of a new affordable housing community for seniors.
Lawmakers Pushing to Preserve Billions in Tax Credits for Nuclear Plants in GA and SC
House lawmakers are pushing legislation that would save federal tax credits from expiring that are worth billions to the Plant Vogtle project and a similar plant in South Carolina, according to a published report.
Invest Atlanta OKs Financing for Downtown Apartment Tower
Atlanta's economic development agency approved using up to $9 million in tax dollars to help finance construction of a $90.5 million residential tower downtown. Invest Atlanta's Board of Directors passed a resolution to use funds generated by the Eastside Tax Allocation District to help Banyan Street Capital LLC build the project, which will create 150 construction jobs.
EPA Awards $300K from Brownfields RLF to Atlanta, GA
Atlanta, Georgia will receive a brownfields revolving loan fund grant totaling $300,000. This is in addition to the more than $1.7 million in grant funding for community-wide Brownfields assessment activities and cleanup planning that seven communities in Georgia were selected to receive.
Provident Using Tax-Exempt Bonds and P3 Financing to Develop Projects
After 18 years in business, Baton Rouge-based Provident Resources Group, a nonprofit development and management company that has been involved in everything from housing for college students to correctional facilities in North Carolina, is changing its focus and developing hotels.

CDFA Summer School is a week long series of courses presented by the CDFA Training Institute. These courses qualify for the CDFA Training Institute's Development Finance Certified Professional (DFCP) Program. Participants may register for one, two, or three courses during CDFA Summer School. Complete three courses, and you will have fulfilled half of the requirements for the DFCP Program.
