Tax Incentives Support Kentucky Fresh Harvest Greenhouses
To encourage the investment and job growth in the community, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) preliminarily approved the company for tax incentives up to $1.5 million over 15 years through the Kentucky Business Investment program.
$5M KY Grant for Industrial Development on Brownfield
The money would fund a 50,000-square-foot spec building in what officials envision will become the Marion Branch Industrial Park, to be built on about 400 acres of reclaimed mine land in Pikeville.
Eastern KY to Benefit From USDA Rural Relending Program
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack unveiled an innovative partnership with community development organizations from across the country, providing $401 million of Community Facilities program funds to help reduce poverty in some of the nation's poorest communities.
KY's P3 Legislation Is Ahead of Schedule
The P3 legislation allows for the award of P3 contracts through "competitive negotiations" rather than through the typical sealed bidding process. The statute also provides that a "person or business may submit an unsolicited proposal to a governmental body."
Grow Appalachia to Leverage Nearly $1M for Ag and Food Systems
As a program of Berea College, Grow Appalachia will work with partners throughout the southeastern Kentucky region to strengthen year-round growing efforts, agricultural economic development, and local food networks.
$1M US HUD Grant for Revitalize Louisville Neighborhood
HUD awarded a $1 million grant to Metro's Housing Authority specifically for the Russell neighborhood. The types of projects eligible for funding include fresh food initiatives and gap financing for economic development projects.
