Move to Kill Illiana Toll Road Project Falls Short
An effort to by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning to stop a 50-mile, four-lane highway linking Interstate 55 with I-57 and I-6 fell two votes sort this morning. The Metropolitan Planning Organization Policy Committee, a companion agency, will meet on the issue Thursday.

Pere Marquette Rehab Being Recognized
Landmarks Illinois will be awarding the Pere Marquette Hotel with its President's Award. Over $40M in renovations went into the historic hotel. The project was partially paid for through the creation of a state historic tax credit.

St. Louis-based Lender Expands Microloan Program to IL
St. Louis-based microlender Justine PETERSEN will expand its service territory to central and southern Illinois. According to the Edwardsville Intelligencer, the expansion is in response to small business owners' limited ability to secure financing through traditional sources.

SSBCI 2013 Annual Report
This report from the U.S. Treasury summarizes the states' Annual Reports and gives state-by-state data showing how SSBCI programs operating in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and five territories have expended their allocated funds in 2013.
