LaGrange, GA Hotel Project Nears TAD Deadline
The Lafayette Square hotel project in LaGrange will be delayed once again after it was discovered that a previously unknown gas station existed on the property, and may have leaked hazardous chemicals into the soil. The discovery came at an unfortunate time, as developers have until June 30th to begin the project if they wish to make use of a local TAD.

Smyrna, GA DDA Approves $15.85M Revenue Bond
The Downtown Smyrna Development Authority voted to approve a $15.85 million revenue bond that will be used to acquire land for improvements to Windy Hill Road. Officials have planned a boulevard concept for the area, which includes widening, addition of medians, intersection and pedestrian improvements.

Douglas, GA Company Uses NMTC to Expand
Premium Peanuts built a 40,000-square foot shelling facility with $23 million in new markets tax credits from CEI Capital Management and SunTrust Community Capital. SunTrust also provided a $7.4 million equity investment, while AgSouth Farm Credit loaned the company $20 million.

Georgia Prices $1.4B in Top-Rated GOs
Triple-A rated Georgia plans to price $1.4 billion of general obligation bonds, with the deal will be split up into five different auctions. Proceeds are earmarked for a wide range of state and local capital needs.

Madison, GA DDA Receives $1.6M from GEFA
The Georgia Environmental Finance Authority has loaned the Madison Downtown Development Authority $1.6 million to transform the West Washington Gateway and to complete a special stormwater project in the city's most deteriorated entryways.

Tumbling Creek Bridge, Downtown Gainesville Bypass Projects Awarded GA Funds
A Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank grant of $793,416 will go toward helping Gainesville get started on putting in a traffic light at the intersection of Thompson Bridge Road/Ga. 60 and Oak Tree Drive/Ga. 60 Connector and realigning Oak Tree Drive.

Savannah, GA Set to Issue $8M in Bonds
Savannah is set to issue $8 million in bonds to make improvements to Broughton Street, pending approval from the City Council. The issuance, which has already been approved by the Downtown Savannah Authority, would go toward a $14 million streetscaping plan that will also make Bay and River streets safer and more inviting for residents and visitors.
