States Across the US Are Finding Innovative Ways to Finance Energy
Many of the initiatives to move our energy system towards clean, renewable power emanate from the state and local levels. A few cities have already reached the 100 percent clean energy mark, with many more committing to eventually meet that standard.
OR Lawmakers Nix Rooftop Solar Tax Credits
Oregon lawmakers failed to include an extension of the state's Residential Energy Tax Credit in a budget sent to the full legislature, the Portland Business Journal reports. The tax credits are slated to phase out at the end of the year.
HUD Awards $12M to Business Oregon's CDBG Program
Business Oregon is expecting to receive approximately $12 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for its 2017 state Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.
OR's Newest Angel Fund is Open for Applications
The W2 Fund, created earlier this year by the group Willamette Angels, is taking applications for its first round of investment. The deadline to apply is June 30 and awards will be between $25,000 and $125,000 for early stage companies.
Coastal Entrepreneurs Get Help From OR RAIN
Oregon Regional Accelerator and Innovation Network, or RAIN, helps connect entrepreneurs with resources to get their business ideas to reality. The non-profit works in Lane, Linn, Benton and Lincoln Counties.
