$250K WEDC Grant Supports $17M Milwaukee Redevelopment
The $17 project will center on a vacant city block near North 4th Street and West North Avenue in the city's Bronzeville neighborhood. The redevelopment plans call for adding apartments, commercial space and a new home for America's Black Holocaust Museum.

State Tax Credits Awarded for Expansion of Cheese Curd Production
The Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery, which produces 80 tons of cheese curds a day, is getting up to $175,000 in state tax credits from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. to support the creamery's planned 28,500-square-foot expansion of its plant in Ellsworth.

Garver Feed Mill Redevelopment gets Critical Tax Credits
Developers have secured final financing for the $19.8 million redevelopment of the Garver Feed Mill, a huge step in bringing the long-delayed project to reality. The project would transform the Garver building into an artisan food production facility and "microlodging" units for short-term rental.

Bristol, WI Looks to Start First TIF District
About 50 acres of land adjacent to Hansen Park could be purchased and included in the village's first tax incremental financing district. The village already used park impact fees to purchase 38 acres for expansion of Hansen Park. Roughly 50 more acres are now available.

Scanalytics Receives $200K State Loan to Expand
Scanalytics Inc., a Milwaukee, Wisconsin company, that developed proprietary technology to measure real-time customer behavior through intelligent floor sensors, received a $200,000 loan from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. 

WI Considers Criminal Penalties for Defrauding the WEDC
The bipartisan bill is aimed at penalizing business owners who apply for state grants to support their business, but use the money for something else, such as personal expenses. Individuals who commit such fraud would face up to 15 years in prison and a $50,000 fine under the plan.

Milwaukee Development Corp Receives $500K Seed Grant
The Milwaukee Development Corp. has landed a $500,000 matching grant from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. that will enable the organization to establish a $1 million seed fund to help firms in advanced manufacturing and the technology sectors.
